The Sunshine Vitamin

Ahhhhhh yes!

Today it is FINALLY nice and warm outside. The sun is shining and everyone is coming out of winter hibernation.

Have you ever noticed how different you feel when the sun is out? Everything is warmer and happier - overall life just feels better. Perhaps its because the sun is generating vitamin D that you're feeling so good!

Vitamin D3 "cholecalciferol" - also known as the "sunshine vitamin", is my most suggested vitamin to clients (although I don't like to pick favorites) because it plays such a huge part in keeping us healthy.
Proper intake of vitamin D is so important as it is needed for many functions in the body.

Vitamin D helps to regulate blood pressure in order to maintain cardiovascular health, regulates insulin levels needed to maintain blood sugar,  helps to regulate phosphorus and calcium levels in the body, AND aids in muscle function and bone health.

Furthermore, studies have shown that vitamin D lowers depression, enhances immunity, reduces inflammation, protects against skin conditions, increases energy levels and helps to prevent cancer.

With all of the benefits that vitamin D has to offer, step outside and take in some sunshine! Another option is to go to your local health food store and pick up a bottle of vitamin D3. I prefer the drops as they are easier to take.

With spring just around the corner and summer a few more blocks away, we have so much sunshine (and vitamin D) to look forward to!

Take in the sunshine vitamin and feel good!
